Thank you, OneDayTours, for an adventure I'll never forget. Together with my husband we booked an experience to the iconic surfing sport of Portugal, combined with the most popular coastal cities, Peniche and Nazare, and got a great opportunity to see Portugal off the beaten paths. Don't miss your chance to try it!

How much time do you have to spend in Ericeira?

Exploring the natural treasures of Ericeira is a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. But to fully enjoy the town, you need a few days. Ericeira has enough fabulous corners that can give you unforgettable impressions. Countryside tours will allow you to relax, get rid of oppressive thoughts, and harmonize your inner world. Regardless of how long you are going to stay in Ericeira - two weeks or a couple of days - you will be able to fully enjoy the natural beauty of this town. Qualified guides will make sure that your holiday is comfortable, safe, and meets local environmental requirements.

What churches can you visit in Ericeira?

Above the beach in the town, there is a small chapel with a memorial plaque. The chapel was built long before those events, somewhere in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is called Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem (Capela de Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem) - the chapel of the Blessed Virgin of the Good Way. The fishermen of Ericeira have prayed to it for a long time and probably still do. The main temple of Ericeira is São Pedro (Igreja de São Pedro). It was first mentioned in the 15th century when there was a chapel here. In the 17th-18th centuries, it was rebuilt into a church. Its decoration style is rococo. Having chosen a historical tour for yourself, you can visit all the historical places.

What dishes are the must-try in Ericeira?

On a tour, you can visit different locations, try and understand the roots of local cuisine. You will taste the local delicacies of the hot and fresh bun associated with the name of the village, visit the farmers and the fresh fish market, taste the spicy classics in the local restaurant, understand why Portuguese are one of the biggest consumers of cod, taste the freshest seafood and toast with the nectar of the gods in the fisherman's tavern. If you want to dine, your guide can recommend restaurants in the Sintra area. Some popular restaurants include Incomum, Metamorphosis, and Tascantiga, all of which offer a wide variety of delicious Portuguese cuisine. Just let your guide know your preferences and they'll be happy to suggest a restaurant that suits your tastes and budget.

Is Ericeira a good holiday destination?

Yes, Ericeira is not one of those places where you can have a long list of things to see and do, so this place is perfect for those who just want to relax and unwind. For those who love surfing (or want to learn), Ericeira is the place to go. Nightlife in Ericeira is best described as laid-back and relaxed, but not without its fun. Small bars can be found throughout the city, with a variety of musicians performing, from DJs to live bands, and many bars have special happy hours.

Is the water warm in Ericeira?

Ericeira has warm summers and mild winters, with temperatures ranging from +6 to +26ºС. The mountains do not block the sun, and the daylight hours on the coast are long; the long sunset is the favorite time of the day for locals and tourists. Rain is rare from early June to September. In November, there is an average of 8 days of rain. The coast is windy, from 17.5 km/h in September to 20.6 in December. Can you walk around Ericeira?
