In addition to historical attractions, Tomar is famous for its picturesque parks and gardens, walks through which are a popular pastime among city guests. In the city center, there is a luxurious landscape park Mata Nacional dos Sete Montes, its area is about 39 hectares. The garden is located next to the ancient monastery, so it is often considered together with it as a single attraction. Since the garden is historical, it has retained many design elements from past centuries. Mouchao Parque is a great place for a family holiday. It is not impressive in size but still attracts locals and tourists. The park is well equipped for recreation; on its territory, there are walking paths, recreation areas with benches, and playgrounds with attractions for children. A large selection of interesting places for walking and entertainment centers is presented in the vicinity of the city. In the warm season, travelers will have the opportunity to visit one of the largest water parks in the region - Complexo Aquatico de Santarem. Visitors here have access to a huge selection of slides, beautiful swimming pools, spacious areas for sunbathing, and a cozy cafe.

Although Tomar is a charming town rich in history and architecture, it's best to spend half to a full day exploring its main attractions. You can adjust your route to suit your interests and pace. However, it is worth devoting at least half a day to exploring the delights of Tomar. If you only have a few hours, you can focus on visiting the Convent of Christ and a quick tour of the historical center. But if you have more time, you'll be rewarded with a deeper appreciation for the history, architecture, and culture of this charming city.

Crowds of tourists have not yet reached Tomar.
