Thank you, OneDayTours, for an adventure I'll never forget. Together with my husband we booked an experience to the iconic surfing sport of Portugal, combined with the most popular coastal cities, Peniche and Nazare, and got a great opportunity to see Portugal off the beaten paths. Don't miss your chance to try it!

Frequently Asked Questions

How to spend time in Baleal?

Baleal is a place where you can find a lot of fun and relaxation. Here are some ideas on how to spend your time in Baleal:

  • Visit the beaches of Balearic and practice water sports such as surfing or windsurfing.
  • Visit Baleal's museums to learn more about the city's history and culture.
  • Try traditional Portuguese cuisine at one of Baleal's many restaurants.
  • Visit nature reserves and parks to enjoy the beauty of nature.
  • Find shops and markets where you can buy local products and souvenirs.

You can do all this by choosing one of our tours to this island.

Where to spend your free time during your Baleal tour?

Baleal has no shortage of beaches, but also cafes and restaurants. With the ocean everywhere, the Portuguese often linger in beachside cafes, chatting over a cup of unparalleled Portuguese coffee or simply watching the sunset. And at the end of a busy tourist day, you can go to one of the beach bars in Baleal, where all the surfing youth flock by midnight. In addition to cafes and restaurants, there are also surf stores, a supermarket, and small stores. So, if you have more time to investigate this island you will not regret this.

How much does it cost to dine in a restaurant?

You can find several restaurants just a few steps away from hostels and other accommodations. The closest ones are Bar do Bruno and the Brazilian Gauchão da Picanha. The average restaurant bill starts from 10 euros and up to 15-25 euros if you order wine! About 0,5 euros in a supermarket, 1,5 euros in a bar, 2,5 euros in a nightclub. You can take a good wine tour and savor the flavors of the local cuisine.

Do I need insurance for the Baleal tour?

Yes! If you are from the European Union, you can apply for a European Health Card, which allows you to use medical services throughout Europe at a reduced cost. We still recommend taking out personal insurance. But it is better to choose your tour and our travel agency will take care of it for you.

How can I get around Baleal?

There are bus services between Baleal and Peniche. A cab from Peniche to Baleal will cost you 6 euros. You can also travel by car or you can rent a car. It is best to choose an interesting tour and travel in comfort by bus, enjoying the beautiful nature.

Where is Baleal?

The peninsula of Baleal, 5 km from Peniche, was also once an island. The beaches around Baleal are some of the most beautiful in Portugal, with a unique geographical position and ideal conditions for surfing. To explore this island you can choose one of the tours. We propose a walking tour, sightseeing tour, guide tour, historical tour, or others. You may choose what you like most of all.
